Bracket racing GENERAL RULES (cont.)

DIAL-INS: Dial-ins must be posted on the vehicle before reaching the crossover bridge. There is a sign noting that dial ins may not be changed past this point and reminding drivers to check their dial-ins before staging.

All dial-ins must be posted on the left side of the racing vehicle. Poorly written dial-ins make it very difficult to be entered into the computer and may not incorrectly interpreted.  It is the racers responsibility to make sure that their dial-ins are legible. The only time a dial-in can be changed is in the event of downtime. Once you pre-stage, you have accepted the dial-in as posted on the boards,  for both yourself and your competitor.  The tower will make every effort to enter the correct dial-in, however it is the drivers responsibility to check the dial-in before staging the race car. If a dial-in is wrong DO NOT STAGE!! There will be no re-runs as a result of a wrong or missing dial-in regardless if it is your dial in that is incorrect or your competitors.

Thunder Valley implements the Compulink Cross-Talk program.  The cross-talk tree will only affect the delay box classes.  It works by firing the top amber in both lanes at the same time.  The faster cars top amber will remain lit until the time comes for the second or third amber in that lane to cycle down.  A driver may cancel the cross-talk function by including an "N" behind the dial-in to show that the function is NOT wanted.  A dash in front of  your dial in  on the scoreboard  indicates that cross talk is turned off.

BYE RUNS: For the first round of eliminations., if there is an uneven number of cars in the round. a bye run will be chosen by the luck of the draw. That is playing cards will be used to determine the bye run.

For the remaining rounds of eliminations., the bye run will be awarded to the driver with the best non-red reaction time in the previous round. If two racers have the identical reaction time, the bye run is awarded to the racer that first received the reaction time.  If there is an even number of competitors, the person  pulled to receive a bye run will be given lane choice.  The bye  run is not cumulative. A driver may pass on his bye and then the bye will go to the next best reaction time. Once a driver has taken a bye run, he will no longer be eligible for a bye in other rounds, unless all the remaining competitors have also taken a bye run.

STAGING: All competitors will be given a reasonable amount of time to stage their race car. Thunder Valley implements the Compulink Autostart system.  Auto start will apply a total timeout timer and automatically start the tree at a random pace.  The timer begins once both cars have pre-staged and one driver has broken the stage beam (whether on purpose or accidentally roll through or bump in).  If the second car does not stage, the tree will cycle in a selected delay enforcing a "no burn down" time limit.  If neither car stages the starter at his discretion will point the cars into the stage beam.  If the cars still don not stage the starter will start the tree and both cars will be disqualified.  If disqualified, points and payout monies will be determined as if they lost in the prior round.

DRIVING IN MULTIPLE CLASSES: We encourage racers to enter more than one class, even with the same car except for No E Street.  Upon doing so, the driver understands the he or she could be required to return to the staging lanes quickly to enable the program to proceed at a normal pace. We ask that you take this into consideration when entering two or more classes. Always keep in mind that we always strive to complete the program at a reasonable hour. We will not put a hold on eliminations. for one driver to return to the lanes. However, every effort will be made to accommodate drivers running multiple classes. Once a driver has run a qualifying pass or participated in eliminations, there is no changing of driver or car. A car entered in No-E Street may not race in any other class.

BUY BACKS: Buy backs are available for all classes except Jr.Dragsters and Jackpot Races. You can only buy back into the second round. Just proceed to the pit gate with your buy back money, class you're running, name, and car number, then proceed into the second round. The time to buy back expires as soon as the final call for second round for your class has been made.

RE-RUNS: From time to time, problems may occur that require a pair or pairs of competitors to have to be re-run in eliminations. It is the sole discretion of the Competition Director to engage in re-runs. It will be the policy of Thunder Valley Raceway Park to re-run pairs in the event of computer malfunction or other uncontrollable circumstances whenever possible. Each situation is different, and will be dealt with in the most fair and expeditious manner. At times a clear winner can be determined without the need for a re-run. Be aware that the practice of re-runs will be kept to a minimum. When the need arises. every effort will be made to accommodate the racers involved to allow them to cool down and rejoin the rest of the field in competition. Failure to agree to re-run will result in loss of round and round points.
