BEAT THE HEAT           HIGH SCHOOL DRAGS 2ND Friday of every month

It's plain and simple! Kids that love working on cars are also into seeing how they perform. A natural extension to tinkering on the car is a safe way to see your skills used to increase that vehicle performance. This year, Thunder Valley will present a High School Drag Racing program that is a fun, safe way to use your individual driving skills along with mechanical ability to compete against other students and schools.

Held the Second  Friday of every month, the High School Drags are open to any current or recent graduate (May 2005) of high school.

There will be points awarded to the team, and individual. Five points for entering and five points for every round won. Winning individuals will receive a trophy, jacket, gold card, savings bond and scholarship to OCC. At the end of September the individual with the most points will represent Thunder Valley in the High School Class at the NHRA Division 4 Bracket Finals held at the Texas Motorplex in October. The individual winner must be a member of NHRA to participate in this event.

All participants that are a member of NHRA are eligible for numerous scholarships including four Mary & Bill Helshier $1,500, three $ 1.000 scholarships from Sears Craftsman.

The timing system will be set up in a handicap system.
